The first part of creating a disjoint rollover is drawing a hotspot or slice object over the area of your document that will trigger the rollover, and a slice object over the swap area—the area that will change appearance when the rollover is triggered.
To draw a trigger area:
Draw a hotspot object, slice object, or button symbol:
![]() |
Draw a hotspot object if the trigger area is not a rollover, or does not change appearance itself. |
![]() |
Draw a slice object if you intend for the trigger area to change appearance. |
![]() |
Place a button symbol if you intend to use it as the trigger. You can attach additional behaviors to button symbols the same way you attach them to slice and hotspot objects. |
To draw a swap area:
Draw a slice object over the part of your document you want to swap out.
